Sometimes when a city speaks to you, you have to listen. And lately, when it comes to fashion, I feel like Barney Stinson’s motto of “new is always better” isn’t really what Cape Town’s been saying to me. Sometimes old is good. Sometimes something so old that it’s not even yours is better.

Happy Spring Day everyone! I’m currently in Joburg and I can truly say that spring has sprung – which is a tad unfortunate because I packed zero appropriate clothing. All I can hope is that by the time I get back to the Cape, they’d have received the memo about spring too.

This past week – after finishing exams and painstakingly moving out of res – I came back to Joburg (my homeburg) and I don’t think I’d realised just how much I enjoyed eating a variety of breakfast foods in my onesie, catching up on DSTv, showering barefoot and using two-ply toilet paper. The freedom that is Cape Town is amazing and all, but cuddling with your mother is pretty great too.

Happy New Year! I just wanted to wish you all a wonderful 2015 – I can feel that it’s going to be a great one. With some wonderful matric results in hand (well done class of ’14!) and a move to Cape Town on the horizon, I feel virtually unstoppable –
you can’t @ me even if you knew my handle. But before I go on to that, I should probably backtrack to the last time I was in Cape Town in December and got to hang out with my old friend, Nuzhah, in my brand-spanking-new jumpsuit from 32 Clothing (but more on that in another post).

as my last post for 2014, i thought a quick reflection would be apt. this year, this blog has given me many opportunities and i’ve also had some incredible moments outside of it, too. i graduated high school, i went to an amazing matric dance, i got my drivers license – all of these moments and more have made this year worthwhile.
