This past week – after finishing exams and painstakingly moving out of res – I came back to Joburg (my homeburg) and I don’t think I’d realised just how much I enjoyed eating a variety of breakfast foods in my onesie, catching up on DSTv, showering barefoot and using two-ply toilet paper. The freedom that is Cape Town is amazing and all, but cuddling with your mother is pretty great too.

Yesterday morning I had a little catch up session with my friend Josh over breakfast at the new Woolworths Cafe in Dainfern and I accidentally got really dressed up. It started out with the collared shirt, and then the boots (another perk of being at home – they’re my moms aka mine now), my lipstick ( Mac Diva with Vino lipliner) and then as I was looking for something with which to cover myself, I remembered this beautiful cape that I got in Istanbul last December (if you’d like one, let me know!).

I remember seeing it through the window as we walked around in Osmonbey and it was so cool-meets-Jacques Clouseau that I begged my mom (who didn’t quite ‘get’ it but conceded) to get it. In retrospect, it’s cool to see how on trend I was – capes are pretty big right now and this cape has been chilling in my closet for the past seven months! Any who, I have to admit that Joburgers complaining about the cold weather for the past few days made me giggle – I’ve come to appreciate Joburg ‘winter’ because Cape Town is something else entirely.

It’s been a humbling few days in Joburg, but as you’ve probably seen on my social media, I’m heading to Nigeria later today for the next few weeks! I’ll try my best to keep my blog/Instagram updated with a #DearSoloGoesToLagos series, but if not, just know it’ll be a bit backdated when I arrive in SA.

Have a good weekend, everybody! And also, Ramadan Kareem to all of my Muslim readers! Have a blessed fast ?<img class="aligncenter wp-image-1553" src="http://www.thedearsoloblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Screen-Shot-2014-11-15-at-3.35.03-PM.png" alt="Screen Shot 2014-11-15 at 3 achat viagra pas cher.35.03 PM” width=”165″ height=”65″ />

    hey there.

I’m not familiar with the retailer: yeye oge is this in JHB or CT or??? it is a travesty that this cape is not already in my closet and it must be corrected.

Wow so excited! I happened to come across this blog while I was going through lookbook yesterday. Finally a blog by a person from SA that I can relate to. Lately I am addicted to blogs and I will be visiting yours regularly. Can not wait for #DearSoloGoesToLagos series. I am in love with the outfit especially the cape and the lippie.
