outfit | opposite of adults

‘opposite of adults’, alternatively titled, ‘the security guard thought i was too fat to be on a seesaw’.

my polaroid camera was a birthday gift and it is my world

you know, since i recently turned eighteen, i haven’t actually felt that different. sure, i can vote, drink, drive (when i get my ish together), gamble, get married, get my own gym membership, my own savings account, blahblahblahblahblah, and sure, some of those things are daunting, but other than that, i’ve been very calm about this whole aging process.

hello readers 🙂 if you follow me on twitter, you would know that the past few weeks/month has not been the easiest (hence why i chose medicine as the song for this post… hehe) but i thought that my blog deserved a little outfit post. it was a quick little shoot done by yours truly with a tripod in my bedroom, hence why there are no detail shots, only my shoes (and my new hair) because i especially needed a reason to blog about them.

read | tips for when you’re feeling creatively stifled…

as someone who wishes to be able to call themselves a writer, i am often plagued with writer’s block. there is a story within me, sure, and it’s waiting to burst forth… and maybe that is the issue in itself. it’s waiting… and waiting… and waiting… and waiting. therefore i have to wait… and wait… and wait… and wait. i often tell people that my book/novel is a book/novel that i just am not ready to write, so i’ll just wait until i have more life experience, or until my vocabulary is more eloquent and mellifluous and my grammar is without fault, or until i go to university, when i’ll have time to write and take a class in writing – yeah, that’s it! i have to take a class in writing. but all of these are just excuses, and thinly veiled ones at that.

after my enlightening experience at #mbfwj, i realised that i needed to add in a subsection under blogger spotlight – the fashion people of south africa are actually the most interesting bunch out there, so let’s take a look at a few, starting with jerri mokgofe.

#mbfwj day 2: tart & selfi

my inaugural fashion week attendance was pretty much life making. in another post, you’ll understand exactly why, but this one is about the first show i witnessed. like most fashion related institutions, the space was running a competition to see a #mbfwj show – in this case, the tart & selfi show on the 21st of march 2014 – and of course i avidly took to the interweb to enter, therefore the biggest of huge ‘thank you‘s goes out to them for the tickets! being in the second row was amazing – i sat behind this lady (who was live instagramming the whole show, shoutout to her ability to edit/post so quickly) who, for a few minutes, i genuinely thought was lena dunham. it was very confusing but ridiculously awesome to say the least.
