As I previously mentioned, one of the parts of taking care of myself this past year meant that I needed to take care of my skin – and this presented its own set of challenges for me. Since my skin had been somewhat regulated in my pubescent years (thanks to Yaz), I never experienced puberty-related skin problems at the same time as everyone else, meaning I didn’t know what to do when things went wrong. So I spent the whole year trying different products, until I spent some time with the Kiehl’s team and was given a range of products that really worked well for my skin.

It’s been just over a year since I last relaxed my hair and about four months since I chopped off my ends and though I still find natural hair quite laborious, I thought I’d diversify my use of protective styles. Lately I’ve been wearing weaves and braiding my hair, but when I wear weaves, I always find either the cornrows or the thread so itchy that I nearly want to pull my hair out – so I wanted to find a decent alternative that is also summer friendly.
