When I was talking to Kenny a while back, I asked her the question “So if clothes do not maketh the woman, what does?” And that actually got me thinking about the role of womanhood in fashion, or more so, of fashion in womanhood.
When I posted about looking for Garnier Pure Active Ambassadors a while back, I didn’t anticipate the response I received. I mean, I had my emails and my Facebook notifications popping for about a month straight filled with eager people wanting to grasp this opportunity. And when I sent out over a hundred application forms and received quite a number of them back, I did not envy the decision the Garnier team had to make – because if this was my response, I wonder how they’d cope with five times the volume.

Happy 20th birthday to me! Besides having to change my age on all of my social media, today marks a new chapter in my life (the end of my teen years and the beginning of my twenties/real adulthood) and I am both excited/nervous as all hell for it. But bring it on ?

Hello friends and welcome to Solo’s Corner! Solo’s Corner is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, and basically, it’s a monthly instalment of interviews with creatives and bloggers from around the country where I just get to know them a little more. The questions range from fashion to music to truth or dare – mostly because I wanted to bring a more personable approach to some of our faves on the internet. Sometimes when a city speaks to you, you have to listen. And lately, when it comes to fashion, I feel like Barney Stinson’s motto of “new is always better” isn’t really what Cape Town’s been saying to me. Sometimes old is good. Sometimes something so old that it’s not even yours is better.
