Look, I know, girls love Beyoncé… The opening line to Drake’s song has never rung truer in the past few weeks. I mean, with the release of not only the album, but the visual album of Lemonade jeopardising all progress I made with my hairline, now was not the time to mess with the Beyhive. But beyond fanatic stan-ism, there was a reason the Hive – and predominantly black women – would not let anyone come for Beyoncé: because she did not make it for you. She made it for us.

I’m starting to feel like introductions are in order because it’s been a good two months *hides* since I’ve last graced the DearSolo blog with my presence. But in my defence, if you’ve been following me on social media, you’d know that the past few months have not been particularly easy.

This past week – after finishing exams and painstakingly moving out of res – I came back to Joburg (my homeburg) and I don’t think I’d realised just how much I enjoyed eating a variety of breakfast foods in my onesie, catching up on DSTv, showering barefoot and using two-ply toilet paper. The freedom that is Cape Town is amazing and all, but cuddling with your mother is pretty great too.
As promised in my Beach Bum outfit post, I said that I’d talk about 32 Clothing (the place from which I got my amazing Monki monochrome playsuit) in another post, and this is that other post! I’m finally getting around to this and it’s way overdue because I got to visit the store at the beginning of December and pick up a few Christmas gifts for an amazing price.

Happy New Year! I just wanted to wish you all a wonderful 2015 – I can feel that it’s going to be a great one. With some wonderful matric results in hand (well done class of ’14!) and a move to Cape Town on the horizon, I feel virtually unstoppable – you can’t @ me even if you knew my handle. But before I go on to that, I should probably backtrack to the last time I was in Cape Town in December and got to hang out with my old friend, Nuzhah, in my brand-spanking-new jumpsuit from 32 Clothing (but more on that in another post).
