Post in collaboration with Superbalist

Right around this time, just like many other students, I find myself moving into a new space – be it an apartment or a new residence room – and I want to find a way to make this place feel like home. Luckily, I’m moving into an apartment this year so I get a bit more creative freedom, but a lot of the inspiration below can be applicable to those of you in res as well. And for those on more of a student budget, Superbalist is currently having a massive sale and has offers going all the time! Check out their apartment deals here.

Because I’m moving into my new room, I wanted to go with a theme. In hopes of churning out a minimalistic and Pinterest inspired room, I chose a few items that went with my monochrome-and-rose-gold theme. I hoped that with a few changes in decor, I could change the overall tone of my future room.

Side Tables

While getting a brand new desk can be quite costly, I thought that updating a bedside table would be a less expensive alternative. In going with my rose gold theme, I found these two beautiful side tables while searching through Superbalist. These types of items are definitely a bit more of a splurge in general, but they kind of bring in the theme more substantially. You can see more desk and side table alternatives here.

Wall Decor

Having the stars or confetti draped on your walls definitely has you Pinterest ready and it helps fill up the space if you aren’t in the mood to have the pictures or the frames below hanging. You can hang them over your bed in lieu of a headboard or above your curtains or desk, too. They’re cute, simple and also play into the theme. The stars are the cheaper choice but either of them get the point across.

Linen Baskets

While they’re a bit more of a rustic and industrial tone, I think this basket set is a great addition to a living space. In the lounge, you can put TV remotes or other decor in them, in the bedroom you can put toiletries, linen, underwear, books and other small items, in the kitchen you can put fruit and other random items and in the bathroom you can put shampoo & conditioner and other toiletries in them too. Or you can distribute the difference sizes around the house and do all of the above!

Prints

Probably the least expensive per item, these prints start from R99 and a set of three would look amazing on a large empty wall space – either in your lounge or your bedroom. I love this (more rose than rose gold) trilogy and the fashion-theme that runs through speaks to my personal taste.

Desk Decor

Lastly, pineapples were a really huge trend last year and Superbalist has these really cool book holders that would add a really trendy feel to your desk. Or you can forgo books all together and just have the pineapples!

I hope you guys found some inspiration in my picks to update your space, and don’t forget that Superbalist is doing 25% off site wide until the savings run out – and even if you miss that, they have offers running daily that will benefit you! And above and beyond that, if you download the Superbalist app, they have specials specifically for mobile users and those alerts will have you tempted to throw away your bank card completely.

Have a great payday weekend, everyone!
