It’s been just over a year since I last relaxed my hair and about four months since I chopped off my ends and though I still find natural hair quite laborious, I thought I’d diversify my use of protective styles. Lately I’ve been wearing weaves and braiding my hair, but when I wear weaves, I always find either the cornrows or the thread so itchy that I nearly want to pull my hair out – so I wanted to find a decent alternative that is also summer friendly. My solution? Wigs.
beauty | the BBB: big braid bun
Alternatively titled: My Anaconda Don’t Want None Unless You Got Buns, Hun
Seeing as it’s #ThrowbackThursday, I thought I’d post this braided hair tutorial from my A Fashion Friend flogger series!
Whenever I saw Solange Knowles or Neema Nouse – or basically every other black girl with box braids – with these gigantic buns, I was always super jealous and felt like I’d missed the memo and wasn’t privy to the big conference that taught everyone how to make these buns, because no matter how long or how thick I made my braids, my buns always looked incredibly pathetic by comparison. So, after searching for answers for a while & finally finding a useful YouTube Video, I have learnt how to accomplish the massive bun, and I’ll impart it onto you in 6 simple steps.

hello readers 🙂 if you follow me on twitter, you would know that the past few weeks/month has not been the easiest (hence why i chose medicine as the song for this post… hehe) but i thought that my blog deserved a little outfit post. it was a quick little shoot done by yours truly with a tripod in my bedroom, hence why there are no detail shots, only my shoes (and my new hair) because i especially needed a reason to blog about them.
