In this month’s instalment of Solo’s Corner, I managed to steal a few minutes from one of South Africa’s OG fashion bloggers-come-make up artist and entrepreneur, Aqeelah Harron Ally, from the Fashion Breed blog.
beauty | maybelline magic
So, next up in my Catfish Chronicles, I wanted to share with you some of the new make up I’ve purchased and received from the lovely people at Maybelline SA recently! I got sent the Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation a few weeks ago and I now understand why I’ve seen both local and international beauty bloggers rave about it.
beauty | L.A. girl obsession
Definitely one of the perks of living at home and having a mother and two sisters was that I didn’t really have to buy my own make up. There was always someone I could steal borrow from to make sure that I had a variety of expensive make up to play with. But now that I’m a big girl, out on my own in varsity, I have to do big girl things like buying products for myself.
beauty | class is in session
Last week Saturday, I had the honour to attend Baked The Blog‘s first Beauty School workshop, hosted and organised by Aisha herself. We got to learn the basics of beauty and other tips and tricks of the trade, as well as debunk some beauty myths, with BTB’s resident beauty maven, Saffiyah.
fashion | dearsolo goes to SAFW
knowing me, you’d think that if i had the opportunity to go to all four (in this case, five) days of SA Fashion Week at crowne plaza in rosebank, i’d be constantly blogging about it. and you know what? you’re right. but this AW 2015 season was a little different – maybe it was the bracelet on my wrist or the tag around my neck… yup! you read that right – this girl right here got her ish together and went as media! but wait, there’s more. i was chosen as Style Africa‘s SAFW correspondent! so instead of blogging all about it here, i blogged all about it there.
