Last week Saturday, I had the honour to attend Baked The Blog‘s first Beauty School workshop, hosted and organised by Aisha herself. We got to learn the basics of beauty and other tips and tricks of the trade, as well as debunk some beauty myths, with BTB’s resident beauty maven, Saffiyah.

Blogger Spotlight: Baked The Blog

Blogger Spotlight: Baked The Blog

One of the first blogs I ever followed and I cant believe I haven’t done a spotlight on her!

Cape Town based fashion and lifestyle blogger Aisha Baker runs one of my favourite blogs, Baked The Blog! I love the way she integrates her love of fashion, music, pop-culture and travel into one congruent blog; I definitely look up to her.
Aisha used to be a fellow Blogspot user, but now she’s a part of one of my new obsessions, South Africa’s first ever blog network called Tgether, which also features some of my other favourite blogs like Aqeelah Harron’s Fashion Breed which I did a spotlight on here, Talya Goldberg’s Shades Of Gold and Raya Rossi’s The Visual Journal
One thing I absolutely adore about Aisha is that she’s very honest – I see so many big bloggers who are afraid not to like anything! If Aisha doesn’t like something, she wont lie and say she does and I admire that honesty so much. I also love her social media! You can follow her on Twitter, Instagram and like her on Facebook! They keep me up to date on pop culture and fashion, plus her humour (recently about exam procrastination – we all know how that feels)!
In a sense, I’m kind of connected to her – she was a part of the 2012-2013 Seventeen Magazine South Africa Style Counsel and I was a part of the Style Counsel that preceded her! No, really – click here to see my first ever photoshoot for the mag in June 2011 (excuse my face, the sun was in my eyes)! Aisha’s shoot was much better than mine!
I love her blog to bits – not only is there fashion and event coverage, but also a beauty section with tutorials! It’s a wonderful blog and I hope you like it as much as I do 🙂
